About me

Hi I am Sonia!

 

Art and science have always been integral aspects of my identity for as long as I can remember. Presently, I am pursuing a PhD in Molecular Oncology at the CNIO (Spanish National Cancer Centre), while also dedicating much of my free time to my passion for drawing (discover some of my artwork at @errrratica).

Although traditionally regarded as distinct disciplines, art and science share striking similarities at their core. Both entail observation, interpretation, and a robust creative process.

As a scientist, I have noticed an unaddressed need within the scientific community: researchers often grapple with effectively communicating their intricate ideas, be it their research findings, new breakthroughs, or grant proposals. I take great pleasure in bridging this gap by crafting scientific illustrations, which I believe to be highly effective communication tools. Several of these illustrations are incorporated in my portfolio.
